Multiple connections exist between family violence and human trafficking. Family violence Workers must recognize known indicators in order to support affected individuals. Indigenous women face unique situations that heighten vulnerability to grooming and exploitation. This course helps to further learners in their knowledge and understanding of human trafficking and the barriers faced by survivors. Learners will gain the skills to recognize, safely respond to, and advocate in cases of human trafficking. Reflections on their own community-specific circumstances allows learners to evaluate situations and assess sensitive and change-making reactions to and for human trafficking survivors. This training uses participants’ own knowledge as a basis for learning how to evaluate situations to respond with cultural integrity, sensitivity, and respect.
